WHO IS…Malaan Ajang?…Jury Is Still Out!

Stumbled upon this beauty on the World Wide Web (gotta love it!), and needless to say I was awestruck. I knew immediately Malaan was Sudanese, but she had unique features that truly set her apart from the rest. With striking Asian eyes, impossibly high cheekbones and huge pillowy lips, her face is absolutely stunning. There is an innate softness and sheer glamour that comes across in her pictures, very atypical of other Sudanese models at the moment. Who seem to be leaning on the edgier, visually “harder” side with models like Grace Bol, Ayur Makur Chuot, Atong Ajork and Ataui Deng.
As I kept searching for information on WHO THIS GIRL WAS…Unfortunately it was very hard to find (she wasn’t even on models.com!). She is signed to Darley Management based in Australia, but that seems to be her only agency. Frankly it’s a wonder that she’s not represented by any of the big international agencies as well. At 5’10″ with 34-24-34 measurements, her body is perfect and on the agencies website, there is a reel of her runway walk, which is better than most seasoned models.
I don’t know what projects she has coming up, but I hope the industry responds to this model “from down under” very soon. Her look is “so” unique for a Sudanese model, that I think some people may not find her look translatable in the beginning. But in my humble opinion she has stunning features, commercial appeal and could have a similar career to the one Ajak Deng has had thus far. I guess we’ll just have to see if the industry is ready for another stardom worthy Sudanese beauty!
